Like all major cities, Seattle has an excellent array of great entertainment to keep you active and allow you to enjoy each and every moment of your free time. From a city that is home to the history of grunge music, and a current world full of artists, musicians, and sport enthusiasts, there is something for everyone in Seattle. And if you're looking for some excellent date ideas, read this.

Music

By far one of the greatest musical entertainment venues in the world, Seattle WA is home to many different places to catch great live shows. Like all other major cities, Seattle has a great local and live music scene, as well as a larger scene for national and touring acts. Dividing your music entertainment time between these can allow you to catch the hot new thing before it is the hot new thing, and enjoy the current famous acts as well.

When it comes to large scale and touring acts, there are several amazing venues that you can trust. The Wamu Theater at Qwest Field Event Center, a huge venue, is one of the prime locations for touring acts. You can catch Fall Out Boy there in April, and stay tuned for a huge selection of touring acts and live shows all spring and summer long, including the Killers.

The Crocodile Café is another great venue, home to both local musicians and touring acts. You can catch Heartless Bastards there on April 11th, and the Ting Tings there on April 12th. The Showbox Theater, and The Moore Theater are both great venues for local acts and professional acts – hosting greats like Gavin Rossdale at the Showbox and Paul Weller at the Moore, both in April. The Showbox is also going to host the Cold War Kids at the end of April. Of course, there are great local music venues that have live music just about any night of the week, such as Chop Suey, Nuemos, and The Taproot. These are all excellent venues if you want to check out some fantastic music, in Seattle.

Theater

Theater is also a great way to spend your time and money while you are in Seattle. There are plenty of great theater activities to keep you busy and entertained. Tuesdays With Morrie, a great and interesting show, is playing currently at the Taproot Theater in Seattle. Cats, the impressive Broadway show, will be at the Paramount Theater on April 16th. It is a fantastic time to check out the local theater too, with plays at all different types of levels.

If you enjoy comedy acts, you can also find a lot of them in Seattle. For instance, Jerry Seinfeld will be at the Paramount Theater on April 24th.

Outdoor Activities

Music isn't the only thing taking place in Seattle. There are plenty of great sporting events and outdoor attractions that you'll find entertaining. The Seattle Mariners play at Safeco field, and catching a game with the family can be a great way to spend an afternoon or an evening. The Seattle Sounders play at Qwest field, so you can also take advantage of that field when it comes to your great entertainment.

Other Attractions

Key Arena can be a fantastic place to take the family for a fun filled evening or afternoon of entertainment. In April, you can watch the Rat City Roller Girls here, and take in a fun filled time with them. Key Arena is a large venue, with stadium seating that the entire family can enjoy.

You also might be looking for some entertainment that is a bit more low key. If that is the case, you should visit McCaw Hall in middle to late April, for a run of the Pacific Northwest Ballet's production of Swan Lake. McCaw hall will also be home to a run of Marriage of Figaro in May. McCaw Hall is home to many productions through the year, and you'll be able to find something to your liking no matter what your liking might be.

If you like concerts, but want to stick with the orchestral kind, visit Benaroya Hall on April 23rd, for the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. You can also watch the Dark Star Orchestra at the Showbox Theater that same week. Both Benaroya Hall and Showbox Theater were built for touring shows and local performances, and have excellent acoustical capabilities.
