4. Sports In Seattle

Seattle loves sports. Both the kind you can watch and the kind you can play.

When it comes to professional sports, Seattle fans are some of the most supportive and enthusiastic in country. When a Seattle team does the well, it’s not uncommon for the city to go overboard with their support.

However, when a team struggles (and most Seattle teams usually do), their fans just smirk, rolls their eyes and chuckle like the team is some petulant little child. There’s so much to do in and around Seattle that no one wants to waste time or energy on a struggling team.

Seattle is sandwiched between two large bodies of waters that provide sportsmen ample recreational opportunities. Within the city, there are over fifteen piers from which to fish. Before you cast a line make sure you check with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Fishing for the latest information and regulations.

There are nine lifeguarded beaches in Seattle. You’ll find these swimming holes at the following parks: Green Lake, Madison, Madrona, Matthews Beach, Mount Baker, Pritchard Island, Seward and Warren G. Magnuson. Even though these are safe areas to swim, the city does recommend getting in the water only when a lifeguard is present. You can log on to Seattle.gov for a lifeguard schedule.
